Blog Articles - These links are to articles about blogging. I have attached a short summary of each article.

This article talks about ways to bring blogging into your classroom. First you need to decide how you are going to use the blog. They give 5 examples of how to use blogs; classroom management, learning journal, online notebook, class discussion or personal expression. All of these give students a chance reflect on assignments or respond. The article also gives ways to protect your students work and how to set up a blog for free.
2. http://www.edutopia.org/blogging-historyThis article explains how a few classroom teachers have used blogs to create a place for book discussions. The teacher set it up so the children could reply without using their names. This was nice for all students so even the shy students could participate. The teacher has to monitor the blog daily to make sure the content was appropriate. One teacher set up a book discussion and got the author of the book to participate as well. The students loved that they could ask a question and have the author answer. 3. http://web20intheclassroom.blogspot.com/2008/10/ways-to-use-blogs-in-your-classroom-and.html
This article give 33 ways to use a blog in your classroom. These examples range from setting up a classroom discussion to sharing research found on a certain topic. There were also ways that a PTA could use blogs as well.

This is an article from the New York Times. It gives an example of how a classroom teacher used a blog to have students share about their field trip. It also shares the simplicity of setting up a blog compared to district websites. It also noted that students often take the time to check their writing before they submit because they want to make sure it is good enough for every to read.

This is another website talking about the how to and benefit of blogging in the classroom. It highlights the fact that even the youngest of students can be involved. It also includes a section about the importance of safety when using a blog. Pictures, full names and locations are things you do not want to share on the blogs.
